"When I started working with Anna, I was 203 lbs., having worked many months at losing weight from 215 lbs.
More importantly than numbers on a scale, I was broken in how I thought about myself and what I felt about how I looked. I had sent her a document with goals I had, and thoughts I refused to say to myself anymore. After reading it, she listed my many values and strengths.
She gently pointed out that much of my language in my document was still very negative towards myself. This was a different approach than I had tried before!
I had tried so many eating plans and diets that all ended up failing, making it so I put on even more weight in the long run. She worked with me, in setting realistic long term and short term goals.
I was amazed at how powerful the tool of utilizing my strengths and values, while exercising self compassion in setting these goals, helped me to start shedding pounds without drastic eating measures.
The pounds started to drop; 3 pounds one week, and sometimes 2 or 4. Some weeks I lost just 1 pound, and other weeks, none.
Seven months later, I had shed a total of 40 pounds!!
Now, two years later from when I started working with Anna, I have maintained my weight loss!
More importantly, my mindset in how I think about myself, and how I approach myself, is with kindness and compassion.
If there are tiny fluctuations in my weight, I have the skill set to evaluate what may be contributing to fluctuations, and to set attainable, realistic goals, in a wholistic approach.
This addresses my needs physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually- all through giving myself grace.
I have not returned to the rabbit hole of negativity in how I look. If I catch myself in negative self talk...I can quickly correct that.

"I must say, Anna's soft voice and positive words were the first things that helped me relax my guarded nature.
During one session, she had me focus on deep breathing exercises which were rather foreign to me at first. She helped me then use my breathing to go deeper and look inside to try to see the inner colors.
As I did so, I was able to identify the dark colors and feelings that had been inside for many years. I had a habit of negative self talk.
She was able to help me see that those feelings and colors were not all of me, nor a true representation of who I really was.
She helped me identify the things in my life that I knew spoke truths, to help me recognize what was true about myself.

I realized both animals and children have a sense of who is kind and are drawn to those people. It helped me believe and know that I am also kind, since animals and children are drawn to me.

I am happy to say that although it still feels foreign, I am staying on my new path of working every day with positive self talk.
Anna has a special way of helping me feel relaxed and safe during our coaching sessions.
I can now look at myself in a mirror and feel like I'm loved, lovable, and loving. That's something I could not do before.
